Team Engagement

A proven process to effect change

Keith uses a holistic systems approach to first diagnose the current state based on values, behaviors, underlying assumptions, and interactions between and among key leveraging points in an organization. The goal is to understand how the organization really works versus how it is designed to work. Keith subscribes to a proven process to effect strategic change that aligns an organization’s vision, mission, values and strategic planning process.

In many cases, clients have embarked on a change process but require refinement in order to optimize their plan.  At other times, the planning is in its nascent stage requiring an assessment of programs, policies and procedures with an eye toward building capacity to sustain strategies following the consulting engagement.

Virtual Facilitation

Consultants have had to adjust their approach to training and facilitation given the impact of the Covid-19 virus. Keith uses a variety of tools and approaches to ensure the active engagement of clients in the education process. An OD orientation aligns well with virtual consulting in that it incorporates group engagement principles, opportunities for reflection and feedback loops.

Keith has worked virtually to facilitate strategy sessions with senior leaders, DEI training for teams and one-on-one coaching.

Global OD Projects

Keith participated in the International Gestalt Organization & Leadership Development (iGold) program; a 30 person cohort of international consultants, educators and OD practitioners engaged in training, cultural exchange, networking and client support.  Keith worked with a team of consultants to successfully address a variety of change projects.

Central European Advertising Company

A 12 year old regional advertising firm experiencing rapid growth reached a plateau. The client presented the central issue as one based on internal conflicts between creative and fiscally oriented client functions.

The consulting team designed an approach based on a series of questions for the client to discuss while the consultants observed their dynamics and provided feedback. The leaders were able to surface deeply held and unstated assumptions through sometimes emotionally charged exchanges. A foundation for more authentic relationships was thus established.

Butterfly Art Project

The Butterfly Art Project is a group of artists, facilitators, local staff and volunteers from around the world who offer psychological and social support to traumatized children and youth from disadvantaged communities. The team met with the Executive Director to discuss a variety of challenges including staff inefficiency, conflict, and cultural differences.

Our intervention surfaced deeper dynamics related to trust in various expressions. We worked with sub-groups on knowledge transfer, communication, feedback-feed forward opportunities. Reconvening as a whole saw a dramatic shift in tone and energy for the group.

European Union Cycle Group

A volunteer organization working across the European Union to promote bicycle utilization and safety. The organization faced significant leadership challenges compounded by shifting priorities as a result of the Covido-19 pandemic.

The consulting team worked closely with the EUCG president to develop solutions to enhance engagement by the volunteer board. Doing so required a shift from a benevolent autocratic orientation to one that engaged the president’s leadership team more effectively. Gestalt principles were applied to raise awareness, understand complex expressions of resistance and focus on the desired future state.

“The Multicultural Leadership Group at AARP has been working closely with Dr. Earley for almost two years. He has provided guidance on cultural competency issues, provide training and individual coaching, and has advised staff on key issues related to strategic planning, organizational development and change management. His insights have been invaluable. As a result, our team is more highly functioning and better prepared to measurably achieve our targeted goals. Keith’s style was perfect for us – and his expertise helped develop our roadmap for success. I highly recommend!”
